1. Overview

Thank you for choosing Charge Manager ("we", "our", or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to transparency. This Privacy Policy outlines how our mobile application operates and explains our data processing practices in full compliance with the Google Play Developer Policy, GDPR, CCPA, and COPPA.

2. Information Handled by the App

To provide real-time battery diagnostics, telemetry notifications, home screen widgets, and safety alarms, the App locally reads hardware telemetry provided directly by the Android Operating System:

• Battery Telemetry: Real-time charge percentage, charging state (AC adapter, USB port, wireless pad, or battery discharge), electrical current (mA / Watts), battery voltage (V), battery temperature (°C / °F), health status, and chemistry technology.
• Session History: Historical charging and discharging curve samples saved to calculate energy delivery (mAh), average current, and duration.
• User Preferences: Custom alarm thresholds (target full percentage, high temperature cutoff, low battery threshold, volume preference, and selected alert ringtone).

Storage Location: All telemetry data and user preferences are stored strictly inside your device's local memory using an on-device SQLite database (Room) and private SharedPreferences. This data is never transferred over the network.

3. Android Permissions & Usage

Charge Manager requests only standard Android permissions that are strictly necessary to deliver its core monitoring features:

Permission	Purpose
POST_NOTIFICATIONS	Displays the ongoing battery telemetry notification and high-priority alarms (Android 13+).
FOREGROUND_SERVICE	Allows continuous battery monitoring in the background to update live widgets and evaluate protective alarm thresholds.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED	Automatically initializes home screen widgets and resumes background telemetry after your device is restarted.
VIBRATE	Provides tactile vibration alert patterns when battery alarms fire.
MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS	Safely plays chosen alarm ringtones at your configured volume level.
WAKE_LOCK	Wakes the screen temporarily so critical alarm dialogs (e.g. 45°C Overheat Warning) are immediately visible.
USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT	Displays the alarm acknowledgment popup directly over the lock screen (Android 14+) so alarms can be silenced without entering a PIN.

4. Third-Party Services & Advertising

Charge Manager is a privacy-first utility application:

• No Internet Permission: The app does not include android.permission.INTERNET in its manifest. It has no physical capability to upload data.
• No Analytics: We do not embed Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, or any user telemetry SDKs.
• No Advertisements: The app is free of third-party advertising SDKs (such as Google AdMob).
• No Tracking: We do not track you across other apps or websites.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Because all data resides exclusively on your local device:

• You can permanently delete all recorded session history at any time by tapping "Clear History" in the History tab.
• Automatic rolling maintenance prunes session logs older than 30 days.
• Clearing the app storage or uninstalling the app via Android Settings completely and irreversibly erases all data.

6. Children's Privacy

Charge Manager does not collect personal information from any individuals, including children under the age of 13. The app is completely safe for all audiences and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any revisions will be reflected with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
